Sometimes I would help out behind the parts counter when I worked at an ATV Dealership. One of the common questions I would get is what Voltage is My ATV’s Battery?
It’s a pretty common question
The Standard nowadays is 12 volts. It’s the same voltage your car or truck uses. So this means you can use a normal car battery charger.
Its smart to use a Smart Charger if you need to charge you battery. To find the best battery charger you can use, I wrote a nice guide about it here. I also point out how you can use a Solar Panel to keep your battery alive.
Its very rare for an ATV to be 6 volts for its battery. Especially if its in the United States. The only ATV’s that I know that use a 6 volt battery are those plastic kids 4 wheeler like.
